Description
Original La Marzocco water level probe suitable for: GB5 X & S, FB80, KB90, Linea Classic S, Leva, FB70, Linea PB, Linea Micra, Linea Mini, Modbar Steam, & Strada EP, AV, EE, MP, X & S.
The level probe helps the control board regulate the water level in the steam boiler. The board senses when the probe is touching water and opens and closes the solenoid as required. If two probes are present in the same boiler, the deeper (shorter outside, longer inside) is used as safety level probe, to guarantee that the heating element doesn’t activate until water completely covers it, whilst the higher (longer outside, shorter inside) maintains the working level.
Failure mode
Steam boiler overfilling, can be caused by mineral build up on the probe or probe cable disconnected. Steam element not activating. If your machine has 2 level probe, check that the probe’s cables are not swapped.
Testing
Visual check of cleanliness and if corrosion has occurred.
